About RDS
History
Rottingdean Drama Society was founded in 1948 and performs three plays and a pantomime each year. Our venue is Rottingdean Village Hall.
The Society has been going strong for over half a century, performing plays to entertain not only the people of Rottingdean but ever-widening audiences in Brighton and surrounding areas. The Society's aim is to present a balanced programme each year, including great classics, costume dramas, contemporary plays, comedies and pantomimes. [more]
If you are interested in joining the Society please see the membership section for more details.
Awards
High standards are sought and, over the years, entries for the annual Brighton and Hove Arts Council Drama Competition have received ten awards including recognition of the warm and welcoming theatrical environment, Best Supporting Actress, Best Actor, Best Stage Setting and three times in ten years for the Best Overall Production.
