Rottingdean Drama Society has been going strong for over half a century, performing plays to entertain not only the people of Rottingdean but ever-widening audiences in Brighton and surrounding areas. The Society's aim is to present a balanced program each year, including great classics, costume dramas, contemporary plays, comedies and pantomimes.

The Society was founded in 1948 and aims to perform three plays and a pantomime each year at the Rottingdean Village Hall.

High standards are sought and, over the years, entries for the annual Brighton and Hove Arts Council Drama Competition have received ten awards including recognition of the warm and welcoming theatrical environment, Best Supporting Actress, Best Actor, Best Stage Setting and three times in ten years for the Best Overall Production.

Rottingdean Drama Society is proud to present, The Snow Queen, by Yvonne Bednarczyk and directed by Audrey Pickles. Performances start on 20th January 2012.

A tradition family panto, with Prince and Princess helped along with the village school teacher Dame Thermogene Birch.
